Development direction of magnesium-calcium refractories

Magnesium-calcium refractories can be embodied in the following aspects in the future development direction:

1. Development of magnesium refractories with high CaO content

Magnesium-calcium refractories have a series of excellent properties, especially the function of purifying molten steel. However, the magnesium-calcium refractories with high CaO content are superior to the low-content magnesia-calcium refractories for the purification of molten steel, so it should be developed. 2. Develop high-grade magnesium-calcium refractories

Due to the existing steelmaking industry, the magnesia-calcium bricks produced in China cannot fully meet their needs. Therefore, it is necessary to select high-quality magnesium carbonate raw materials with high purity and high density, and improve the magnesium-calcium bricks through appropriate additives and optimized production processes. 3. Development of magnesia-calcium castables for ladle

4. Development of magnesia refractories for cement kiln

In many countries, magnesia-calcium bricks are widely used in the firing zones and transition zones of cement rotary kiln to avoid environmental pollution caused by the use of magnesia chrome bricks.

5. The development of continuous casting tundish with dry magnesia calcium ramming

The continuous casting tundish is the last container of the continuous casting process. The molten steel enters the crystallizer through the tundish. If the refractory material in the tundish contaminates the molten steel, it will not be discharged. Therefore, in order to meet the needs of clean steel smelting, as long as the construction and baking technology is properly solved, the dry magnesia-calcium ramming material will be widely used in the continuous casting tundish work lining.
